Dear Families, Friends and Visitors,
We continue to watch with compassion and concern as the number of Long Term Care homes in outbreak continues to rise across the province. In response to increasing COVID-19 case numbers, the Ministry of Long Term Care released new directions regarding Visitor Policies in Long Term Care Homes. Beginning November 30/20, the following changes will take effect:
- All Visitors to the home must have a negative COVID-19 test in the past 14 days and present proof of the negative result on arrival to the home. This proof must be presented at EVERY visit.
Visitors may demonstrate proof of negative results by:
- Showing the Front Entrance Screener a printout of results indicating your name, test date and results
- Showing the Front Entrance Screener your mobile device indicating your name, test date and results
For those Visitors who do not have access to a printer or mobile device; we will have a tablet available for you to use at the front entrance to access your results. Please ensure that you bring your health card with you if accessing your results at the home. This Tablet will be disinfected after each use.
Please note that our Screeners will not keep a copy of test results.
These new public health restrictions are difficult but necessary in the fight against COVID-19. As always, Belvedere Heights is committed to the safety and wellbeing of the residents in our care and will continue to employ proven infection prevention and control practices in limiting the spread of this virus. Our ongoing collaboration with Public Health, Lakeland Long Term Care and with our hospital partners ensures that resident care remains unhindered.
Please see attached letter for ways in which you can help keep our home safe this holiday season.
We thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation,
